qphia is “the quest for philosophical answers” – a social network with a focus on philosophy and intelligent thought
This project has been built in the hope that it may encourage more people to actually think about the world that we live in, in a pragmatic, unbiased and philosophical manner, devoid of influence from consumerism or social and political conditioning. Ultimately we would like to think that this site could act as a springboard for social reform and positive change, leaning towards a positive socio-centric political landscape.
How does qphia work?
When you sign up for a qphia account and log in, you will be able to post questions to the community; to which other community members may respond with philosophical answers. Questions can be pretty much anything you like, but answers should always be written in a philosophical manner.
Obviously some questions may be difficult to answer in a philosophical way, however this encourages people to consider them more carefully and offer answers beyond the scope of conventional thought.
Who’s behind qphia?
Basically qphia is a privately run project, set up and built by some English guy sat in his room with nothing but an interest in philosophy, ethics and social evolution, armed with a community based open source web development platform. Originally the intention was to transpose a book that I had begun writing to a philosophy blog, however the idea for qphia hit me almost as soon as I’d begun, and the site ended up going in a completely new direction.
