Is there a solution to the current economic downturn, and given the state of affairs is it time for a completely new way of thinking?

It’s safe to say that the economic downturn cannot be treated like an etch-a-sketch. It is not one problem, it is a collection of many problems. THe sollution to these can be reached if the concerned parties stopped pointing the finger of blame at each other and working together to help each other out. However, as we have seen throughout the last year or so it’s become a war between ‘people’ and the ‘corporate machine’. Personally I wish I wish I could use the etch-a-sketch model to sort it all out.
