I suppose the construct of sense is largely contextual, i.e. what makes sense in one situation may not make sense in another.

The arts – for instance, can be devoid of sense, and even illogical, yet in the mind of the artist it was what made sense at that moment in time.

In broad terms sense will mainly apply to the common consensus of what is logical and sensible, however sense can also be born of personal opinion or perception.

If sense refers to the senses, however it is harder to determine what makes sense, I do, however, believe that there are additional senses there to be used if you leave your mind open to them.

To be articulate or understandable in a description or explanation that made sense.

Or to be practical or wise with your suggestions. For example, it makes sense to cross the road at the lights.
